Tamara Chrisler

Tamara Chrisler has been the Executive Director of the Office of Compliance in the United States Congress since 2006, where she leads the agency in advancing civil rights and safety and health within the U.S. Congress. Prior to joining the Office of Compliance, Tamara served as a labour and employment attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, representing the interests of the Government in workplace rights claims brought by employees, and ensuring that employment discrimination laws were followed by management officials. Tamara also served as the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Coordinator, acting as liaison between agency staff and managers to ensure proper training and education.
Prior to her tenure with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Tamara served as a Prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois, representing the State of Illinois in child abuse and neglect cases, juvenile felony and misdemeanour cases, adult felony cases; and serving as a Special Prosecutor, prosecuting high profile gang offenders, and other habitual and violent juvenile felony offenders.
Tamara remains dedicated to public service to ensuring that the rights of individuals are furthered.
