Rosa Brignone

Head of Equality and Diversity Unit
European Parliament

Rosa Brignone is working at the European Parliament (EP) since 1984. From 1998to 2003 Rosa was administrator in the Women's Rights Committee, responsible for such dossiers as violence against women, Beijing Platform for Action and gender mainstreaming. In her current functions as Head of the Equality and Diversity Unit, she has focused on broadening the scope of equality policies. This led to the adoption by the Bureau of the Action plan 2009- 2013 for the promotion of Gender Equality and Diversity in the EP Secretariat. Her unit is playing a key role in the development and implementation of positive actions, e.g. to achieve gender balance in management and to promote the employment of persons with disabilities.
