Ellen Seßar-Karpp has been the initiator and manager of projects that qualify women for the use of computer technology for the past thirty years. She co-founded and managed the FrauenTechnikZentrum (Women’s Technics Center) in Hamburg. Then she directed the European pilot project «Technologie- und Beratungszentrum» (Centre for Techno- logy and Consulting) at the INET (International Network for Training) in Großpösna near
Leipzig, of which she was Executive Director for seven years. In 1999 she received the Cross of Merit on ribbon for her pioneering work. Ellen has served on the German Commission of UNESCO. She is Chair of the Board of filia. die frauenstiftung, based in Hamburg, Germany.
