Josy Laza Gallagher
Senior Consultant and Human Resource Expert
Josy Laza Gallagher is a Senior Consultant with over 25 years experience in Organiza- tional Development and Human Resources with specific expertise in Global Diversity/ Inclusion, Training and Development and Staffing. Josy has a proven capability in leading culturally diverse teams and operating in global organizations, as well as in delivering training and organizational development programs that focus on respect in the workplace. She has conducted organizational assessments
including focus group interviews, executive interviews, surveys and strategy conclave sessions with senior leadership teams. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French. She was a coach for the Ascent Multicultural Women leadership program, Tuck Business School, Dartmouth University and has played an integral role in establishing Diversity Councils and Affinity networks in major organizations. Josy served as a Diversity Officer on loan for a major global law firm and managed their organizational assessment project, leading the creation of 4 employee resource networks, and facilitating the associates’ orientation sessions as well as creating and leading the Bias Free Interviewing workshops.
In July 2001, Josy was one of 200 women nationally invited to participate in a forum to discuss issues related to women of color in organizations and participated in the development of a national corporate survey used to identify the best companies to work for, sponsored by Working Mother Media. She con- tinues to support Working Mother Media at the annual Multicultural Women Conferences and the Asian Women Leadership Network conference in New York City.
Josy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and New York teacher certification from Marymount Man- hattan College and a Master’s degree in French and Spanish Literature from the City University of New York. Josy is Afro-Cuban, has travelled extensively, has lived and/or worked in over 25 countries. Josy is a founding member of the Career Women’s Forum in Geneva, Switzerland and also a founding member, Vice President and Program Chair of Madrinas, a virtual network for Corporate Latinas.
She is a member of the Organizational Development Organization and Society for Human Resources Management. She does volunteer work in the area of Organizational Development in Cuba. She lives in Reston, Virginia with her husband and two sons.
