Sherry Snipes recently joined The American Institute of Architects (AIA) as Director of Diversity & Inclusion. Diversity is one of three strategic initiatives, along with Sustaina- bility and Integrated Project Delivery. The overarching objective of the diversity strate- gic goal is industry diversification. Snipes works cross-functionally with the Diversity & Inclusiveness Council to communicate the business case and to drive tactical programs
around pipeline development, marketplace diversity & workplace diversity & inclusion. Previously Ms. Snipes held the role of Global Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement Manager for Arrow Electronics, Inc., where she worked cross functionally to create and deploy effective diversity & inclu- sion strategies specifically focused on recruitment, accountability, diversity awareness, employee development, retention, engagement and business return on investment. Prior to Arrow, Ms. Snipes held key positions with MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc., John Kaldor Fabricmaker, Ltd., and Proctor & Gamble, Inc.
Ms. Snipes is a former member of the Board of Directors for American Lyric Theatre (www.ALTnyc.org) and Partnership with Children (www.partnershipwithchildrennyc.org). Her past speaking engagements include the European Black Women‘s Symposium, The World Diversity Leadership Summit, BEYA Con- gress of Diversity Professionals and National Association of African Americans in HR (NAAAHR). She has been interviewed by Newsday, Careers in disAbled Magazine, Diversity Careers and Savoy Pro- fessional Magazine. Additionally, she had the honor of being featured in the book “Voices of European Black Women Vol. 1”. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Hampton University.
